Hair fall is a problem that has been experienced by more women as the years pass. It has become recognizable over the past few years and methods have been conducted to avoid hair loss. Hair loss is experienced by women because of hormones, aging and genes.
The most common type of hair loss is the
female pattern baldness also known as female androgenetic
alopecia. This occurs in women gradually with age and increase after menopause. The female androgenetic alopecia is similar to that of men with a few distinctive features. On the first stage women see their hair thinning on the central scalp. On the second stage, patches of hair loss can be seen and finally, on the third stage, more
baldness is visible but not of that like men.
Normally, hair grows at the average rate of half an inch per month and it grows for about 2-6 years. After that, it rests, and then falls out and in its place a new hair starts to grow. So, normally, 85% of hair grows while 15% rest.
Changing in the intensity of androgens can affect hair production. For instance, due to menopause, the hair on the head of women may be thinned, while the facial hair is blatant. Even though new hair does not produce, the cells remain alive, suggesting new
hair growth. Other than the pattern of baldness that is followed, a number of reasons may result in hair fall including; medications, iron deficiency, thyroid or vitamin deficiency.
Because this hair loss is permanent since it is a pattern, treatment is not available. However, Minoxidil can be used on the scalp. It is a vasodilator medication known for its ability to slow or stop hair loss and promote hair re-growth of about 20%. If this treatment is stopped, the hair starts to fall at the normal speed again.
Hair transplants consist of removal of tiny plugs of hair from areas where the hair is continuing to grow and placing them in areas that are balding. This can cause minor scarring in the donor areas and carries a modest risk for skin infection. The procedure usually requires multiple transplantation sessions and may be expensive. Results, however, are often excellent and permanent.
Another way to avoid baldness is implanting hair made of artificial fibers or stitching hair pieces to the scalp. Both these measures are, however, advised not to be experienced since the rate of infection is high in the case of implants and stitching may result in scars. Another way which hair loss can be disguised is using hairpieces or hair weaving. Not only are these methods cheap, but also a safe way to deal with the pattern of baldness.
Since natural treatment are considered much more healthy and less expensive, before you go and spend a lot of money on expensive and maybe unnecessary hair transplants/implants we recommend you try some of the natural treatment for a trail period as most of them are offered for free for a trail period. This will help you make the right decision.
